A Per Doesn't Beat Trips

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Michael Tureniec opened to 180,000 and Per Linde made the call in the big blind.

Flop: {7-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}

Linde checked and Tureniec fired out 200,000 but Linde wasn't going anywhere and made the call.

Turn: {Q-Hearts}

Linde checked again and this time Tureniec bet 500,000 but Linde called a second time as the pot swelled over the million mark.

River: {6-Hearts}

Linde checked a final time and Tureniec now made the biggest bet of the heads up battle, 1.4 million was pushed over the line. Linde looked very uncomfortable at this point and thought for a couple of minutes before calling. Tureniec showed {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} to win a 3 million chip pot, Linde has been crippled, will this prove decisive?

One is Enough

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

Tureniec immediately returned to winning pots after that last Linde-favouring one.

Per Linde min-raised the button but Tureniec called. They both checked the {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and Tureniec bet out 200,000 on the {3-Diamonds} turn. It was enough to push Linde off the pot, and Tureniec took it down.

Button Limping Rare as Hen's Teeth

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

I'm not 100% sure what hen's teeth are, but they're probably found more often than a button limp from these two. Four preflop pots went back and forth, before finally Michael Tureniec called a big blind three-bet from Per Linde (500k). The flop came down {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Tureniec folded to a 450k bet out from the shorter stack.

Upping the Aggression

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Tureniec opened to 180,000 and Per Linde called once more. Linde check-raised Tureniec's 200,000 bet to 550,000 on a flop of {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Tureniec instantly folded.

Linde opened to 160,000 and Tureniec made the call to see a raggy looking flop of {8-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {4-Clubs}. Tureniec checked, Linde bet 200,000 and this time Tureniec check-raised to 550,000 and it was Linde's turn to fold.

Tureniec raised to 180,000 but Linde made it 500,000, that was enough for Tureniec to give it up.

There's few very flops going on at the moment and almost all pots are going with the player in position

Tureniec Steamroller Undeterred

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Tureniec won the next three hands as well.

Hand #190

Per Linde min-raised the button but folded to Tureniec's 425,000 three-bet.

Hand #191

Tureniec raised his button and Linde folded.

Hand #192

Remember, this was the hand that the random emailer to EPT Live predicted would be the last of the tournament. What crazy Scandie-on-Scandie action could Hand #192 hold in store for us?

... Tureniec got a walk.

Tureniec Starts Whittling Process Again

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

An interesting hand just handed Michael Tureniec over a million of his recently-donated chips back. Starting with Tureniec on the button raising and getting called, the flop brought [5j Jd 5c]. Check to Tureniec, who bet 200k. Linde called, and following the pattern of quite a few of their previous hands, there was no bet on the {6-Diamonds} turn. The river paired the {6-Clubs} and Linde bet out 325k. Tureniec counted out a raise, and upped the bet to 950k. Linde made the call, but mucked when he saw Tureniec's {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Linde Doubles Back Up

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante

Per Linde raised from the button, and then shoved to Michael Tureniec's reraise. It really looked as though we'd be crowning a champion within seconds...

Linde: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Tureniec: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

But it was not to be for Tureniec this time around.

Board: {j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} making Linde a flush

With that, the stacks are not too far off even again - Tureniec is at 7.83 million, Linde at 5.64 million.

One Way Traffic

Michael Tureniec raised to 180,000 and Per Linde called to see a {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, Linde checked then called a 200,000 bet. The {K-Diamonds} came on the turn and this time Linde check/folded after Tureniec fired out a 500,000 bet. It seems to be one-way traffic at this point.

Tureniec again raised the button to 180,000 and Linde this time tried to 3-bet to 500,000 but Tureniec moved all-in and Linde instantly folded. The latter is getting dangerously short.

End Predicted by Hand 192

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 5,000 ante
EPT Copenhagen Heads Up
EPT Copenhagen Heads Up

Linde folded his big blind to one button raise from Tureniec, but three-bet a hefty stack of 25k orange chips the next time, winning the pot. Say what you like about these players, they're not predictable or visibly concerned by the pressure of an EPT final table.

Someone wrote in to EPT Live predicting the end to this battle would occur in ten hands' time. We're all very curious to see if this prophecy comes true.

Linde raised on the button, and Tureniec made the call {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Check to Linde, who won this one there with a 200k bet.

One hand down, nine to go...apparently.
