Nishijima No More

Thiago Nishijima open-shoved for 115,000 from middle position, and Omar Baioumi made the call in the big blind. Nishijima's {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} needed to hit against Baioumi's {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. Though Nishijima picked up a few extra outs along the way, the {Q-Clubs} {5-Spades} {3-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {7-Clubs} board wasn't enough to save the Day 1 chip leader.

Berende Movin' On Up

When we walked up to the table, Juan Manuel Pastor had moved all-in and Paul Berende was making a decision for most of his chips. Nick Schulman was still left to act after Berende and the board read {4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}.

After some thought, Berende made the call, Schulman got out of the way, and the cards were on their backs.

Berende: {7-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Pastor: {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Berende had to dodge clubs on the last street, and that he did, when the {7-Spades} hit the river.

Juan Manuel Pastor hit the rail and Berende increased his stack to 738,000.

Brittle Brito

Laurent Olive limped in for 12,000 which was only bizarre because Fernando Brito had 15,000 left.

They then checked down a {3-?} {6-?} {A-?} {8-?} {9-?} board. Olive's {10-?} {5-?} managed to win against {2-?} {4-?}.

Brito was all-in next hand for 3,000 but managed to pick up {A-?} {Q-?} and double against the big blind's {10-?} {7-?}. He's back up to above 10,000 - so almost 1BB.
