Exit Day 5; Enter Final Table
EPT Snowfest champion Allan Bække came into the day with the chip lead, looking for an unheard-of double dip on possibly the toughest tournament circuit in the world. He managed to run deep into this penultimate day, but his bid for EPT immortality came to an end in 12th place.
Bække shouldn't feel too bad, though. Eight of the top ten players entering Day 5 were eliminated over the course of about 10 hours, including each of the top six. Online qualifiers Thang Duc Nguyen and Paul Berende were among the casualties of this tough day, as were PokerStars players Jens Thorson, Ronny Kaiser, and Ramon Cserei.
That leaves just eight players still in the hunt for the trophy. Here's how they'll be set up heading into tomorrow's final table, each of them looking to get their hands on that €1.25 million first prize:
Seat 1: Claudio Piceci - 4,460,000
Seat 2: Alexey Rybin - 1,890,000
Seat 3: Atanas Gueorguiev - 2,520,000
Seat 4: Jakob Carlsson - 13,525,000
Seat 5: Giuseppe Diep - 1,830,000
Seat 6: Liv Boeree - 3,440,000
Seat 7: Toni Pettersson - 5,035,000
Seat 8: Michael Piper - 4,600,000
We'll be back tomorrow at noon CET (not 2pm as it was today (owing to the TV folks arriving a little late after an epic bus ride)). Be sure to join us right here at PokerNews to see who gets to take home the trophy and the lion's share of the loot.
