Betting!

The familiar pattern of checking led us to the turn of an {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {2-Clubs} board which Anton Wigg checked. Francesco de Vivo bet in position, eliciting an insta-fold from Wigg. De Vivo showed him the {A-Clubs}.

Action, Interrupted

Francesco de Vivo raised to 225,000, and suddenly everyone got veyr excited as Anton Wigg reraised to 740,000. It was enough, though - de Vivo folded the {A-Clubs} up, and Wigg took the pot.

Growing Apart

A few more pots of chip-chipping away have allowed Wigg to open up his chip lead a bit. He's just shy of having a two-to-one edge over De Vivo right now.

Biggest Heads-Up Pot Yet

Anton Wigg appears to have made the minimum raise to 160,000 before the flop, and Francesco De Vivo made the call.

The flop brought out {4-Spades} {9-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, and two checks hinted that this might be yet another ho-hum-check-it-down pot.

Ah, but the turn would bring some action. The {8-Spades} drew a bet of 400,000 from De Vivo. Wigg didn't waste an awfully long time calling, and the {7-Clubs} filled out the board. De Vivo led again with a bet of 600,000, and Wigg sat still and considered. After about 30 seconds, he announced a raise, and by the time he'd gathered about 1.6 million chips into his betting area, De Vivo's cards had hit the muck.

That pot pulls Wigg back into the chip lead with 6.6 million to De Vivo's 5.9 million.
