Jorgensen Can't Hit Flush Draw

Theo Jorgensen raised from the button to 45,000 before Norman Kastner reraised from the small blind to 116,000. Jorgensen elected to make the call and see a flop in position.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Kastner fired 190,000. Jorgensen moved all in and Kastner called. He was all in for 359,000 total with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} against the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} of Jorgensen.

The turn came the {5-Clubs} and the river the {5-Hearts} and Jorgensen couldn't find a spade to send Kastner to the rail. Kastner moved up to 975,000 while Jorgensen dropped to 2.15 million.

Ainsworth Takes Aim and Misses

From middle position, Jude Ainsworth raised to 40,000 before action folded to Alfonso Amendola in the big blind. He reraised to 118,000. Ainsworth moved all in, having Amendola well covered. Amendola made the call.

Amendola: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Ainsworth: {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Amendola made a straight to double up. He was all in for a little over 400,000 and now has 850,000 chips. Ainsworth slipped down to 580,000.

Somewhere under there is Theo Jorgensen
Somewhere under there is Theo Jorgensen
The board read {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and the conversation went as follows:

Amir Tassoudji: "All in."
Theo Jorgensen: "Call."
AT: "Set?"
TJ: "Yes."
AT: "S***."

Tassoudji: {A-Spades} {10-Spades}
Jorgensen: {6-Clubs} {6-Spades}

Turn: {2-Clubs}

River: {3-Diamonds}

While Tassoudji trudged to the cash desk, big chip leader Jorgensen is now huge chip leader on 2.5 million.

Kubat Kerplunked

Patrick Kubat raised all in from middle position for roughly 230,000 chips. Evgeniy Zaytsev woke up to two red aces in the big blind and snap-called. Kubt had a dominated {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} and that was all she wrote for Kubat. Zaytsev jumped to 860,000 chips.

Colladoral Damage for Torosyan

Over half a million chips had found their collective way into the pot by the river of the {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} board, at which point Jan Collado bet out 140,000. After some consideration, Grigory Torosyan folded and was left with less than 400,000. Collado moved up to 750,000.

Nathwani Lets the Gods Decide

Flipping good
Flipping good
Short-stacked Patrick Kubat open-shoved and it folded to Ketul Nathwani in the small blind who thought about it for a while. He got a coin out of his pocket. "Heads I call," he said, and flipped it.

The coin came down tails. The coin went back in Nathwani's pocket, and Kubat's stack was returned to him. We play on.

Room With No Thew

Thewed up, spat out
Thewed up, spat out
We arrived at Julian Thew's table to find the eponymous Team PokerStars Pro missing. Tablemate Ketul Nathwani filled us in.

"Well, Julian open-shoved for, like 230k. And I found aces." He grinned, very reasonably at that last bit - he's up to 1.85 million after that.

Good game, Mr. Thew.
