Johnny Lodden Eliminated, a Drama in Three Acts

Act One:

Johnny Lodden moved all in from the button, Gino Alacqua moved all in behind him from the small blind, and the big blind folded. Lodden's {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} was up against Alacqua's {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}, giving Alacqua the double-up and leaving Lodden on only 1,800 chips.

Act Two:

With the action folded to him in the cutoff, Lodden moved all in and chip leader Antony Lellouche obliged with a call. Lodden's {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} led Lellouche's {7-Clubs} {10-Clubs}, the flop coming down {K-Hearts} {10-Spades} {3-Spades} to make Lellouche middle pair and give Lodden a gutshot straight draw. The {4-Hearts} on the turn was no help to Lodden.

"Queen!" called Lellouche as the dealer burned and turned the river card.

It was the {Q-Hearts}, making Lodden's straight and doubling him up to 4,500.

Act Three:

Lodden was all in again on the next hand and got a caller in Jerzy Hajdamowicz in the big blind.

Lodden: {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs}
Hajdamowicz: {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

The {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} flop paired up Lodden and gave him a straight draw to boot. The {6-Spades} hit the turn, but Hajdamowicz made Broadway when the {J-Hearts} spiked on the river, an eerie reverse of the previous hand.

"Riverstars!" shouted a railbird as Lodden made his exit.
