Another day begins at Portomaso Casino with Day 1c of the €560 Eurasian Poker Tour (EAPT) Malta Main Event. Last night, 26 players out of a field of 172 entrants managed to qualify for Day 2 though Day 1a. They were led by Italy's Enrico Grella (644,000), who became the chip leader after he burst the bubble. He was closely followed by Javier Cabera Romas (619,000), who won an important flip during the last levels to end the day with more than 100 big blinds.

After Day 1a, Day 1b gave the opportunity for 14 players among 90 entrants to qualify for Day 2. Luigi Pignataro (528,000) bagged the chip lead, ahead of Hugo Loustau (526,000) or WSOP bracelet winner Vangelis Kaimakamis (177,000). But overall, Fabio Peluso had the biggest stack as he ended Day 1 Turbo in first place with 648,000 chips.

Day 1c will kick off at noon tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9. Like on Day 1a, players will receive 40,000 chips and play on 40-minute levels until 15% of the field remains. Same rules apply for Day 1d, which starts at 5 p.m. However, the levels will be 30 minutes long on this flight. Finally, the last flight of the tournament, Day 1 Turbo, will start at 9 p.m. with 20-minute levels.
