EAPT Champions Fernando Santa Maria and Miklos Zsuffa Still in Contention on Day 2 of Grand Final

A total of 276 players from a field of 1,565 entrants will return as the fields combine for Day 2 of the Eurasion Poker Tour (EAPT) $2,200 Grand Final beginning at noon local time here at the Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa.

EAPT Barcelona champion Fernando Santa Maria bagged the overall chip lead, finishing Day 1c with 4,110,000. Santa Maria will be the only player with over 100 big blinds to start Day 2 and is most closely followed by Day 1a chip leader Alina Kiryna (3,530,000) and Fabian Quoss (3,445,000). EAPT Bratislava champion Miklos Zsuffa is also still in the mix with 1,820,000.

The EAPT is offering a special promotion for those still playing Day 2 of the EAPT Grand Final. At any point during Day 2, players can pick up a free EAPT patch to wear from one of several nearby tables. Out of all the players who choose to wear an EAPT patch, the player who goes the furthest in this tournament will get a free entry into a €560 EAPT Main Event at a location of their choosing during the next EAPT season.

The flop came KK2 and Munteanu check-called a 180,000 continuation bet from Lasouski.

Munteanu check-called another bet from Lasouski on the J turn, this time for 660,000.

Both players checked the 5 river. Munteanu tabled AJ for two pair but Lasouski showed down K9 for trip kings to scoop the pot, bringing his stack close to triple the average.

Novoselov Picks the Wrong Time to Hero Call

Vlado Banicevic opened to 400,000 from under the gun and Roman Novoselov defended from the big blind.

The flop came J104 and Novoselov check-called a 400,000 continuation bet from Banicevic.

Novoselov lead out with a bet of 700,000 on the J turn that was called by Banicevic.

On the 9 river Novoselov downbet to 600,000. Banicevic shoved for exactly 3,000,000 and Novoselov made the call.

Novoselov tabled 108 for two pair but Banicevic had a bigger two pair with QQ to take down a full double up through the chip leader.

The flop came Q106. Lasouski checked, Novoselov fired a 650,000 continuation bet, Lasouski check-raised to 1,400,000 and Novoselov called.

Lasouski bet 1,650,000 on the 5 river only for Novoselov to raise to 5,500,000. Lasouski made the call.

On the 3 river, with a massive pot of nearly 16,000,000 already in the middle, Lasouski checked and Novoselov moved all in, covering Lasouski who had 13,100,000 behind. Lasouski made the call.

Novoselov could only show KJ for a missed straight draw. Lasouski turned over QJ to take down the biggest pot of the tournament so far with just one pair.
