Sharoian Hits a Higher Two Pair

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There were already around 120,000 chips in the pot on a board of 5AJ7 when Zaza Gachechiladze bet 50,000, and Arkadii Sharoian shoved for 100,000. Gachechiladze called.

Sharoian was a huge favorite to double up with a higher two pair and just needed to fade a seven on the river to do so. Gachechiladze was hoping for a two-outer but instead the 2 completed the board, and the pot was pushed to Sharoian.

Kim Spikes the River to Stay Alive

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sergei Kim
Sergei Kim

With 40,000 chips already in the pot on a flop of 7410, Avtandili Magradze had checked it over to Sergei Kim, who made a bet. Magradze then raised to 55,000 and Kim called.

A 6 dropped on the turn and Magradze shoved, which gave Kim a decision for his remaining stack of 202,000. Kim was in the tank but after around a minute, he put the chips in which left him at risk.

Avtandili Magradze: 107

Magradze had flopped two pair and had Kim on the ropes with just one card to come. Kim needed to find an eight or a nine on the river to survive and did just that when the 9 rolled off, which improved him to a straight.

Magradze was understandably furious after that river card and thumped the table in frustration as a chunk of his stack was slid across the table.

Ekserdzgyan Hits the Rail

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Alexander Ekserdzgyan was already all in for his short stack and had been called by Dauren Zhaparov & Irakli Kemularia.

The three saw a flop of 666 where Zhaparov checked, Kemularia bet 16,000 into the dry side pot, and Zhaparov called.

On the A turn, Zhaparov check-called another bet after Kemularia fired 27,000.

Both checked the 9 river where Zhaparov showed A10 for a full house, and beat the 5x5x of Ekserdzgyan & the JJ of Kemularia.

The final day of the EA Poker Tour (EAPT) Main Event gets underway at 1 p.m. today and the final 110 players will come back to battle it out for the title and the lion's share of the $370,500 prize pool.

After four live Day 1s plus an online flight — which totaled 741 entries — the survivors from each will merge for the first time and play until there is only one left standing.

The overall chip leader is Aleksandr Biriukov, who came through Day 1a with a huge stack of 1,168,000, and was the only one of two players to break the one-million chip barrier. Georgia's Davit Abashidze was the other as he stormed through Day 1d to bag up 1,032,000, in a flight where the host nation occupied the top four spots in the counts.

Payouts for the final day will be released shortly before play begins and updated on PokerNews as soon as they are published.

Day 2 will begin at Level 17 (4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante), as that was the earliest level at which any of the opening flights ended. The clock will be set at 40 minutes throughout the day and the average stack is a little under 270,000, which is around 34 big blinds.

A feature table is scheduled to go live after the first break and will be streamed live (with a 30-minute delay), and the link to watch will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

Keep it right here with PokerNews as the EAPT Main Event plays down to a champion.
