EAPT Arrives in Barcelona For the Start of the €560 Main Event at 2 p.m.
The Eurasian Poker Tour (EAPT) is celebrating its 10th anniversary and is honoring the occasion by descending on one of the most prestigious poker rooms in Europe, Casino Barcelona for the start of the €560 EAPT Barcelona Main Event.
The action begins on Day 1a at 2 p.m. local time. Players begin with a 40,000 starting stack and will play 40-minute levels on this starting flight. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 9, and players are allowed one reentry per starting flight. Play concludes once 15 percent of the field remains, who will all be in the money for Day 2 on Oct. 7.
There will be three more chances to join the field after today and chase the €200,000 guaranteed prize pool. Day 1b is tomorrow at noon local time and will feature 30-minute levels, while Day 1c gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday with 20-minute levels. Finally, there is a turbo Day 1d flight on Saturday morning with 15-minute levels.
The tournament also features two challenges to win a seat into the next festival taking place in Bucharest next month. Anyone wearing an EAPT patch during the event will be entered into a last longer contest. Players can also post a photo of themselves wearing the patch on Instagram with the hashtag #eapokertour. A drawing will then be held from all the entrants to determine who wins the seat.
Since its inception in 2013, the EAPT has hosted 40 festivals across Europe and Asia. So far in 2023, there have been festivals held in Rozvadov, Czech Republic in June and Milan in July. Julio Anzelmo won the Milan Main Event, prevailing over a field of 632 players to earn €54,500.
Another player will get their hands on an EAPT trophy here in Barcelona, and PokerNews will be following all the action and providing live updates throughout the event.
