Matusow Survives

He's done it again. On the last hand before their table broke, Mike Matusow doubled through Michael Mizrachi for the second time here on Day 1.

Mizrachi opened with a raise to 3,000 from middle position and Matusow moved all in for 31,200 from the cutoff. Action folded to Travell Thomas in the big blind, and he looked anguished after peeking at his hole cards.

"You might spite call," Thomas said to Mizrachi as he pushed his cards to the dealer.

"And I'm going to," Mizrachi replied. "I call."

Mizrachi: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Matusow {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

A crowd gathered as the dealer rolled out a {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Matusow paired his king, but Mizrachi added a flush draw to his pair.

The {10-Clubs} hit the turn. "I'm going to double up and bust you tonight," Matusow exclaimed.

The river brought the {7-Clubs} and Matusow bested Mizrachi again. Getting chips from "The Grinder" hasn't been easy today, but Matusow has been the exception.

The two DeepStacks Pros were sent to the outer tables immediately following that hand. Karina Jett is now at the feature table.
