Screaming Queens for Alakorva

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Veli-Pekka Alakorva jammed against an opener 65,000 in chips. Two seats over, Sami Pulliainen called off his stack of around 27,000 and the rest of the table folded.

Veli-Pekka Alakorva: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Sami Pulliainen: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Alakorva screamed so loud that people downstairs in the casino likely heard. It sounded like a scream of pain but it was likely a scream of joy as his pocket queens were dominating his opponent's pocket nines.

The {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} board was a good one for Alakorva and Pullianen quietly got up while his opponent screamed in what couldn't be mistaken for anything but happiness after his hand held.

Larssen Cracks Aces

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Ole Christi Larssen opened from early position for what appeared to be 2,500 before he called a three-bet from an opponent in late position.

Larssen check-raised his opponent from 3,700 to 7,400 after the {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} appeared on the flop and got a call.

Larssen then jammed his remaining stack of 11,500 chips after the {5-Clubs} came on the turn and got a snap-call from his opponent.

The table collectively gasped after Larssen turned over {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the nut-straight. Larsenn's opponent was drawing dead holding {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

The {6-Clubs} came on the river and Larssen cracked aces and doubled up

Nikkinen Eliminates Two Players

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Marjo Nikkinen just eliminated two of the short-stacked players on her table.

She opened to 1,600 from under the gun before Odd-Einar Ronningsgrind three-bet jammed for 6,200 from middle position. Joonas Helin from one seat over four-bet jammed for 8,000.

The action folded back around to Nikkinen who paused for 30 seconds before she called.

Marjo Nikkinen: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Odd-Einar Ronningsgrind: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Joonas Helin: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Ronningsgrind got out of his seat and began walking away before the flop was dealt when he saw his opponents' hands. Helin sat tight to watch the action knowing he wasn't in the worst spot in the world.

Nikkinen's jacks held as the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board ran blanks for both of her opponents and she successfully took out two players at once. Helin will likely be back in action as he immediately asked the dealer whether he could reenter at the table.

When he got his answer he promptly headed over to the tournament desk.

Timmis Eliminates Gashkov with a Full House

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Craig Timmis
Craig Timmis

Craig Timmis was at the final table of the first Coolbet Open Main Event in May and is back in action today with a big stack after winning a package to this event for finishing in the top 10 spots.

Timmis with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} just called a three-bet jam from Dmitri Gashkov with {9-Spades}{8-Spades} of about 7,000 chips.

It was looking good for Gashkov after he paired the {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop. It went from good to drawing dead after the {7-Spades} came on the turn to give Timmis a full house.

The {5-Spades} on the river gave Gashkov a straight but that was still not good enough to save his chips.

After the hand, Timmis was piling up what appeared to be approximately 95,000 in chips.

Sander van Wesemael
Sander van Wesemael

Dutch poker player Sander van Wesemael, affectionately known as simply "The Weasel" to his friends, has just late-entered the tournament. During the first Coolbet Open Main Event in May, he finished runner-up to Sebastian Wahl for €33,000.

While Van Wesemael was taking a seat an all-in and a call took place. Yngve Am three-bet jammed for 11,000 with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and was called by Geir Olav Flataker with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

Am was slightly ahead in the race before the flop and held all the way through to the river with the {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs} board running all blanks for his opponent.
