Simoneau Returns the Favor

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

As David Kim was all in on an adjacent table for 54,100 with an opponent in the tank, action was building on Table 9.

Randy Needens was all in for 79,500 into a pot of around 60,000 from the big blind. He was heads up on the turn with a board of {7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and action was on his opponent, Ryan Simoneau, who was under the gun. (While Simoneau was in the tank, Kim's opponent folded to the preflop decision and he took down the pot.)

Simoneau mulled over his decision, going between wanting to call and telling himself it could be the worst call he could make. Eventually, he called.

Randy Needens: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

"It was the worst call," said Simoneau as he turned up {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

The river came {q-Hearts} and Needens secured the double on the penultimate hand of the night.
