Macias Misses Flush, Backs Into Straight
Nate Zoller opened to 1,100 from middle position and received calls from Behrouz Keshtavar on the button and Erik Macias out of the small blind. The flop came and action checked to Zoller, who put out a continuation-bet of 2,500.
Macias check-called another bet of 4,000 on the turn and the river fell . Both players checked through to showdown.
Macias tabled .
"What is that, a straight?" said Zoller. The dealer confirmed. "Runner runner, huh? That's sick," Zoller added.
"I had a flush draw on the flop, too," said Macias. "Nice check behind."
"I know," Zoller said in response to the flush draw. "I was putting you on spades the whole way.".
"Then why didn't you bet?" Macias questioned.
"That was the perfect spot for you to bet!" Zoller answered.
"That was the perfect spot for me to check-raise!" said Macias as the dealer finished pitching the cards for the next hand and the two got back to business.
