Wu Crushed In Chilling Fashion
Level 16
: 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Steve Wilkie was on the button and saw limps from Michael Giardina in early position and Sherman Wu in the hijack. Wilkie raised to 30,000 and both limpers called.
The flop came and Giardina checked. Wu then went all in for 71,000, sending Wilkie into the tank.
"Sorry guys, just..." said Wilkie after about 45 seconds. He continued, "I think you're on a flush draw and I'm ahead." Another half a minute went by and he found a call, with Giardina folding behind.
"What do you have?" asked Wu, tabling for aces up. Wilkie's was behind, but running gave him a backdoor flush to improve beyond Wu's two pair and eliminated him in eighth place as a result.
