The Five-Bet Jam from Staats

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Randall Brooks opened to 23,000 and was then three-bet by Chris Staats to 60,000. When action folded back to him, Brooks then put in the cold four-bet to 115,000, but Staats responded with the five-bet jam, covering Brooks.

Brooks then went into the tank for a good while, as he would be risking his tournament life.

"You got the goods?" he asked Staats, who did not give any response, "The five-bet is pretty strong."

After another thirty seconds, Brooks decided to let it go and the pot was pushed over to Staats for a nice pickup.

Sundara Shoves and Shows the Ace-High

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ravee Sundara
Ravee Sundara

On a multi-way flop of Q84, Brad Ruben led for 41,000 and was called by Ravee Sundara and Tai Vo to see the turn fall the 10.

Ruben then decided to slow down and check, at which point Sundara moved all in for around 550,000, forcing a fold from both opponents.

He then shows A6 for the nut flush draw, but essentially just ace-high, and David Shaw lets the surrounding tables know...

"Oh man, Sunny's all in on his first hand with ace-high!"

Sundara just smiled as he collected the pot to put his stack over 900,000.

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of K3Q, there was already over 300,000 in the middle when Jason Fitzpatrick bet 88,000 after a check from Cedrric Trevino.

Champlin Shoves on Chlouber

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Albert Chlouber opened to 27,000 from the button and was called by Richard Fink in the small blind, but then Spencer Champlin three-bet to 127,000. Ony Chlouber called and the two went heads-up tp a flop of 773, which saw a bet of 80,000 from Champlin and a call from Chlouber.

On the 9 turn, Champliin thought for a good 30 seconds before he announced all in, and Chlouber also went into the tank to think about this one. After a few moments, he tossed his hand into the middle and the pot was awarded to Champlin.

Burchfield Busts with Kings

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Kris Burchfield
Kris Burchfield

After an open to 25,000 and a call from Ghadi Akari, short-stacked Kris Burchfield raised to all but one chip. The original raiser folded and Akari moved all in, to force that last chip into play, which Burchfield quickly tossed in to put himself at risk.

Kris Burchfield: KK
Ghadi Akari: 910

Burchfield was in a great spot to double here with his kings, but the flop of 367 was not ideal as it gave Akari a ton of outs with a straight and flush combo draw.

The turn 5 was safe, but the river A was the dagger that gave Akari a flush and Burchfield was sent to the payout desk.
