Metalface Bluffed Off a Hospitality Package
Ryan "Metalface" Davey finished the feature table with some profit but it could have been a lot more.
He flopped two-pair on a board in a hand he opened up preflop with and his opponent led out for a bet. A non-spade appeared on the turn and his opponent fired another bet and Davey called again.
A completed the board on the river. Davey's opponent shoved for about £800, which more than had Davey covered. If Davey called he would have notched up over £1,400 in profit on the session. This would have placed him in the lead in the feature table contest by a considerable margin.
Davey instead folded and found out later his opponent was bluffing the entire way. He then shared with us his thought process on the river where he felt there were too many hands that could beat him to call off.
While Metalface was recounting the hand to PokerNews after the session, we reminded him that if he called and won he would have won a hospitality package for two to the Cash Game Festival Dublin at the Village Green Card Club from Oct. 11-15 valued at €400.
Davey seemed gutted by this news, however, he thought for a minute that it was for a full Cash Game Festival Dublin package valued at €1,500 that are being given away to jackpot winners. Although Davey does want the hospitality package as well, he did share his relief that he wasn't automatically priced in with top two pair in that situation with €1,500 in value on top of a pot worth almost as much.
