Sabogali Pops The Bubble, Collects Tenth Bounty

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A player moved all in from under the gun for 99,000 and Alberto Sabogali called in the big blind, putting the player at risk of elimination on the bubble.

Opponent: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Alberto Sabogali: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Sabogali needed to hit to collect a bounty. A {k-Clubs} turn card shifted his hand into the lead and the {q-Clubs} river cemented it, sending the pot and a bounty chip to Sabogali as the bubble was popped.

5 p.m. Start for Event #18: $1,560 Purple Chip Bounty

Shannon Shorr

Another Bounty tournament is on the busy Saturday schedule today as Event #18: $1,560 Purple Chip Bounty is set to start at 5 p.m. local time here at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa. There was no bounty event with the $500 purple chip as a bounty during the 2019 edition of the Borgata Winter Poker Open but there was one last September. Shannon Shorr walked away with the win and $32,907 from the prize pool (aside from any bounties).

With a prize pool of over $111,000 as there were 115 entries, this one-day event looks to be promising as a nice warm-up before all the other festivities kick off here in Atlantic City. Shorr overcame a field which included seasoned players like Jeff Trudeau, Carlos Matos, Ian Landsman, Jonathan Borenstein, and Will Failla for example.

Players start with 25,000 chips in their starting stack and level duration is set at 20 minutes each. Players can register late or reenter an unlimited amount of times during the first ten levels of the day. A 15-minute break is in the planning after every five levels.

Follow along with the PokerNews live reporting team when the action is picked up during the latter stages of the tournament.
