The 2019 Borgata Poker Open has now had another tournament draw to a conclusion here in Event #6: $350 6th Annual Mike Sica Memorial Seniors. A total of 89 entries were gathered for the event and when the field whittled down to the final four a deal was made.

The players took an even chop of $4,856 each, with Dave Hollenberg taking the trophy home. Hollenberg was very clear that he wanted to take the trophy before any talks were started as he wanted to surpass his son (Michael Hollenberg) in Boragata trophies.

The other three players obliged and Hollenberg added a second trophy to his resume. Henry Porcaro, Ken Weinstein, and Mark Smolley also took home an even piece of the remaining prize pool. Each pocketed $4,856 for their piece of the four-way chop in the seventh event of the night.

Peter Sennon eliminated in 5th Place ($1,813)

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Peter Sennon
Peter Sennon

Peter Sennon moved all in from the cutoff for around 140,000 and Ken Weinstein snap-called from the big blind, players tabled their hands with Sennon at risk.

Peter Sennon: {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Ken Weinstein: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The flop came down {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Weinstein landed a third lady, putting him in a prime position to send Sennon out the door.

A {k-Clubs} on the turn brought some straight outs for Sennon but the {k-Diamonds} river did not help as Weinstein took down the pot with his full house, elimating Sennon in fifth.

Sennon Bounces Back

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Peter Sennon limped from under the gun and Henry Porcaro raised it up to 40,000 on the button. Sennon called and the dealer spread out {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} on the flop.

Sennon checked to Porcaro who bet 55,000 and Sennon quickly check-raised all in for just under 200,000. Porcaro let go of his hand, showing the {k-Spades} as he folded and Sennon turned over a {k-Diamonds}, saying "Gold fold," while he scooped in the pot.

Smolley Doubles Through Sennon

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mark Smolley
Mark Smolley

Four players saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the action checked around. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Mark Smolley moved all in for 181,000 with just over 50,000 in the main pot.

It folded to Peter Sennon who said back in his chair and asked the dealer for an exact count. "How do you get yourself in these situations Peter" Sennon said quietly to himself before he slid the calling chips forward.

Mark Smolley: {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Peter Sennon: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Smolley turned over the flopped wheel and Sennon would need to improve holding straight and flush draws.

The {a-Spades} river card was no help to Sennon and Smolley earned the double up.

Larry Gurney limped the small blind and Henry Porcaro bumped it up to around 30,000. Gurney called and the dealer spread out {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} on the flop.

Gurney moved all in and Porcaro snap-called. Gurney showed {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for jacks over sixes but was behind when Porcaro tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for aces up.

The board ran out dry and Porcaro took down the pot with his aces, eliminating Gurney from the tournament in sixth place.
