Roland Israelashvili Eliminated in 7th Place ($885)

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Roland Israelashvili
Roland Israelashvili

Playing Omaha/8:

On a flop of {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} Vincent Basilicata (sb) checked, Roland Israelashvili moved in for his last 17,000, then Andrew Dudley (button) raised. Basilicata moved all-in, so the hands were tabled:

Vincent Basilicata: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} - nut low draw, pair of treys
Roland Israelashvili: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} - pair of eights, low draw
Andrew Dudley: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} - top pair, low draw

The final two cards fell {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Basilicata made trips for the high and no low was possible, so he scooped it all. Israelashvili was eliminated in seventh place, earning $885.

Demaskey Gets Quartered by Andersen

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Rolf Andersen
Rolf Andersen

Playing Omaha/8:

On the river with a board reading {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}, Sandra Demaskey tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for the nut low and pair of treys. Chip leader Rolf Andersen showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the same nut low and a pair of aces for the high. He got three-quarters of the pot and Demaskey only got one-quarter after splitting the low.

Andersen extended his chip lead while Demaskey's stack took a hit, leaving her with about 5.5 big bets.

Demaskey Makes Courtesy Show

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Sandra Demaskey
Sandra Demaskey

Playing Omaha/8:

On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} Sandra Demaskey (sb) bet 20,000 and Vincent Basilicata (button) struggled a bit before making the call.

When the {j-Spades} came on the turn, Demaskey again fired, this time 40,000, and again Basilicata tanked, struggling with his decision, counting out his remaining chips (65,000).

After Demaskey offered to show, Basilicata begrudgingly folded what he said was pocket aces. Demaskey showed her {a-}{k-}{q-}{j-} for two pair as she took the pot.

Stevens Bubbles, Heimowitz Takes 8th in Double Elimination

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Lonnie Heimowitz
Lonnie Heimowitz

Playing Stud/8:

Short-stack Matt Stevens was all-in with side-pot action between Rolf Andersen and Lonnie Heimowitz. Rolf continued to check/call bets from Lonnie as the cards were delivered:

Matt Stevens: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Rolf Andersen: {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Lonnie Heimowitz: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

After the river card was delivered, Andersen again checked and Heimowitz bet his last 27,000, which Andersen called.

Stevens tabled {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} and had missed both ways, ending up with just a pair of fives.

Heimowitz confidently tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the diamond flush, only to see the bad news when Andersen rolled over {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for the full house. He scooped it all, chipping up to 485,000 and a huge chip lead on the table.

Stevens was eliminated ninth for $0, while Heimowitz earned $663 for his eighth-place finish.

One more hand and it was finally break time. The remaining seven players are enjoying their first break of the day.

Stevens Still Surviving

Level 21 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Matthew Stevens
Matthew Stevens

Playing Omaha/8:

Matt Stevens was all-in for the small blind a short while ago, survived the hand, and got a breather once he reached the button.

He was soon all-in again holding {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and got action from Lonnie Heimowitz in the big blind, who had {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. The board fell {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} giving Stevens Aces-up and the double-up, and a little more breathing room.
