Kalantzi Run Down By Meacham

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Maria Kalantzi
Maria Kalantzi

Maria Kalantzi got her chips in ahead holding {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} against the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} of Wade Meacham. She was poised for a double-up, but then the board came {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} and Meacham turned a straight to take the pot.

Kalantzi was busted.

James Brady has been eliminated as well and we're already down two tables.

Kunkel Doubles Thru Eubanks

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Bryan Kunkel Joe Eubanks

Deepest Stack players are wasting no time getting their chips in the middle!

Michael Dobbs opened for 18,000, then Bryan Kunkel moved in for 149,000 straight from the button. Chip leader Joe Eubanks was in the small blind and he gave it some thought, then called. Dobbs got out of the way and it was heads-up.

Kunkel's {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} was in good shape against Eubanks' {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} improved Kunkel to a set, doubling up on one of the first few hands.

Bill Miller was dispatched to the rail when all-in with {a-}{8-} and ran into {a-}{10-}.

Harry Schwartz was felted by Rags Thiagarajah.

Cards are in the air for Day 2 of the $100K GTD Deepest Stack!

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Day 2 and the final day of the $100,000 GTD Deepest Stack event is underway in the Signature Room!

Of the 98 returning players, only 54 will get paid, so just under half the field has to be eliminated to reach the money. That should happen in short order as the 30-minute levels and increasing blinds will continue to put pressure on the short stacks.

The prize pool and payout distribution should be released shortly and they'll be posted here in the blog when available.
