The Game Within the Game
Poker played between one man and another, without the distractions caused by a table ringed with opponents, is said to be among the most intense formats the game has to offer.
Every street of betting matters and every move made bears import as the match wears on, each man hoping to figure the other out and get inside their head.
For Matt Stout, however, the real game is being played in Madison Square Garden, where the New York Rangers square off against the St. Louis Blues in a National Hockey League contest. Stout, a feared tournament professional who has played heads-up for a World Series of Poker bracelet already in his young career, came to today's Heads-Up event at the Borgata Winter Poker Open proudly sporting a throwback Rangers jersey. With his beloved Blueshirts matched up against the Blues as he faces off against Joe Tracy, Stout has broken out the iPad to watch his team in action.
Despite making decisions on every single deal, Stout has decided to soak in the scenes on the ice while mixing it up on the felt. With flops and folds going on all around him, Stout can be seen turning his head to take in the hockey game, but with his Rangers already down a goal, Stout will try to keep his focus on the goal here today.
