Hands #55-58: Stammen Wins Big Pot Off of D'Angelo

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Keven Stammen

Hand #55: Ryan D'Angelo had the button. Everyone folded and Byron Kaverman received a walk.

Hand #56: Curt Kohlberg had the button and was yelling at Vince Van Patten proclaiming that his shirt is sexy. "Just ask the Royal Flush Girls," he said, right before folding. Byron Kaverman raised to 220,000 from the small blind and Keven Stammen folded from the big blind to give Kaverman the pot.

Hand #57: Byron Kaverman was on the button. Curt Kohblerg opened to 160,000 from the cutoff. Everyone folds and Kohlberg picked up the blinds and antes.

Hand #58: Keven Stammen had the button and limped in. Tony Dunst folded from the small blind and Ryan D'Angelo checked his option from the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. D'Angelo checked and Stammen bet 100,000. D'Angelo called.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}. D'Angelo checked, Stammen bet 275,000 and was again called by D'Angelo.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and D'Angelo checked for the third straight street. Stammen then made a bet for the third straight street, this time for 1,075,000. D'Angelo, with a perplexed look on his face, stared intently at the board while shuffling a stack of chips in his left hand. He asked Stammen about his pre-flop limp but received no information in return for his query.

D'Angelo counted out the call, looking over how many chips he would have left. He looked as if he wanted to make the call, talking to himself and replaying the hand out loud. "Wow," he muttered. He peeked back at his cards one last time and made the call. It was a call he would regret as Stammen had {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the nut flush. D'Angelo could only show {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of Aces. Stammen wins the huge pot and adds to his chip lead. D'Angelo moved down to the second shortest stack.
