Boyle Blown Off the Pot

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The board read {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} by the turn and a pot containing 230,000 was being contested.

Andrew Zhu shoved for his last 222,000 and Boyle tanked for more than two minutes, cutting out the calling chips and sizing Zhu up in the next seat over.

Finally, Boyle uncapped his cards and rechecked them, before sliding them to the dealer.

"Show the punt!" demanded a boisterous Emad Alabsi. "Show the punt!"

Zhu sat still as a stone for ten seconds, looking back at his hand once or twice before finally showing the {7-Spades} in response.

Two More Busts

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

There was a raise to 40,000, Brian Rosengarten three-bet to 90,000, and a very short-stacked player cold-called all-in for 85,000 in the blinds. The original raiser called as well.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}, the original raiser check-folded to a bet of 100,000, and the hands were opened.

Rosengarten: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Evidently the player called all-in blind, knowing the odds she was receiving to double. She was drawing dead when the turn was the {2-Spades}, and hit the exit when the {8-Clubs} completed the board.

On an adjacent table, John Hall was eliminated with unknown action.

Are You the Gatekeeper?

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

One player shoved all in from the under the gun, putting his last 75,000 at risk, and the action folded around to James Boyle.

The self-proclaimed "lighthouse keeper at the WSOP" casually flicked out three of the red T25000 tournament chips to make the call, putting his short-stacked opponent at risk with {A-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

"This is my favorite hand..." said the all-in player as he tabled {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Unfortunately for him the board didn't play favorites and the final runout came {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, leaving him with an outkicked top pair and shipping the small pot to Boyle.

Slick Satish

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

In a preflop confrontation of big stacks holding big hands, Satish Surapaneni just took down one of the biggest pots we've witnessed all night.

Surapaneni held {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} to outkick his opponent's {A-Clubs}{q-Spades}, and the final board rolled out {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} to keep him out in front.

With more than 750,000 at his disposal, Surapaneni currently sits on more than double the average stack with just 25 players left in the tournament.

We Jammin'

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Emad Alabsi
Emad Alabsi

When we arrived at Table 1, Emad Alabsi was all in, Andrew Zhu had him at risk, and James Boyle was in the tank. He folded, and Alabsi and Zhu both waited to reveal their cards.

"He has two threes," Alabsi said, showing {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Sure enough, Zhu opened up {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Alabsi and his rail started celebrating as if he had already doubled up. The celebrations elevated when the dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, giving Alabsi a leading pair of queens, so much so that he and his friends started singing the Bob Marley classic "Jammin'."

They nearly finished the chorus as the turn and river came {6-Hearts}, {5-Clubs} respectively, and each word became louder and louder as the song continued.

Alabsi doubled through to 350,000 chips, while Zhu dropped down to 480,000.

Bubble Girl Loses Flip

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
The last player to collect to money
The last player to collect to money

An unknown player was all in and at risk preflop for around 150,000 or so holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and her opponent, Ivan Polanco, showed {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

The wired pair of tens held up as the flop, turn, and river came {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and the player was eliminated.

"Am I the bubble?" the player asked, laughing.

The other three tables completed their hands with no eliminations, so indeed, this player was the bubble girl.

Adi Lip bubbles the bubble

Adi Lip was all in and at risk with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, he was basically flipping against James Boyle's {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Unfortunately for Lip, the turn ({j-Spades}) and river ({7-Spades}) were both bricks, and he was eliminated just shy of the money. Boyle is up to 920,000 chips.

Borrero Doubles

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Miguel Borrero
Miguel Borrero

Miguel Borrero found himself all in and at risk with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} preflop against an opponent's {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Things looked grim for Borrero on the flop ({5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}), but the {k-Hearts} on the turn gave him a gut-shot straight draw and a flush draw. The {10-Spades} on the river completed his straight to the king, and he doubled to around 250,000 chips.
