Today one of the premier events on the Borgata Spring Poker Open gets underway, as Event 11 ($1,090 buy-in, $100,000 Guaranteed NLHE Reentry) begins at 11 a.m. local time.

The Six Max format has fast become a preferred venue for the game's best and brightest young stars to show their stuff, as the accelerated pace of the game rewards boldness, aggression and creativity rather than simply catching cards. We expect a full roster of professionals to show up with their game faces on for this event, so stay tuned to see who takes their seat to take a shot at this five-figure score.

Last January the Borgata Winter Open was the scene of an epic Six Max shootout between several of poker's young gunslingers, as well known pro Matt Affleck triumphed over a stacked final table to take down the title. Affleck ran over a final table which included three other million dollar men in terms of live earnings (Byran Kaverman, Josh Brikis, Andy Hwang), as well as up-and-coming young pros Tony Sinishtaj and Caufman Talley.

That tournament attracted a total of 373 entries and reentries to generate a huge prize pool of $361,810, and we're curious to see if those numbers will be matched or exceeded here today. Late registration and unlimited reentries available through the end of Level 6, so there will be plenty of time for the bankrolled pros to pony up a bullet or three.

Keep it here with PokerNews throughout the day as we proudly provide live continuous coverage of Six Max event live from the floor.
