It's All A Blur - Four Eliminated in Last 5 Minutes

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
"Action" Bob Hwang
"Action" Bob Hwang

We have had four players eliminated in the last five minutes:

Magaly Descalzi opened to 33,000 and after tanking for nearly a minute, Bob Hwang moved all in. It was a tough decision for Descalzi but she made the tough call with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Hwang had {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and would lose the race and be eliminated in 11th place when the board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Spades}.

A short stacked Yuval Harosh would lose a race to Kevin Saul with {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to Saul's {8-}{8-} to finish in 10th place.

Alex Rocha would be felted by Jeff Madsen in a blind-vs-blind confrontation where Madsen had {J-}{7-} and would flop trip Jacks to best Rocha's {A-}{8-} eliminating Rocha in 9th place.

A short stacked Jonathan Gottlieb would then finish in 8th place when his {A-Spades}{7-Clubs} was unable to improve and Kevin Saul's {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} would be the winning hand.

We are now at our final table of 7 - we'll have chip counts in moments.

Zaydman Still Alive

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Magaly Descalzi opened for a raise and Elliott Zaydman moved all in for his last 82,000. It was folded back to Descalzi who made the call with {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. It would be a race as Zaydman had {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The board went in Zaydman's favor and he had a straight when it was all said and done to double up to 175,000.

Jonathan Gottlieb Doubles Through Elliott Zaydman

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Two of the shorter stacks left in the tournament got it all in pre-flop. Jonathan Gottlieb held {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} while Elliott Zaydman had {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} to give Gottlieb a flush draw.

"Red," said Zaydman.

The turn was a black card but it was still safe for Zaydman as it was the {7-Spades}.

The river was another black card - this one not safe as it was the {Q-Clubs}. Gottlieb clapped his hands once in celebration as he doubled up to 210,000 while Zaydman is crippled with just 75,000 remaining.

Anthony Maio
Anthony Maio

Justin Young opened for a raise and Anthony Maio moved all in for a little more than 130,000 with {A-Spades}{9-Spades}. Young made the call with {10-}{10-} and the board would run clean for Young to give him the pot and send Maio to the rail in 12th place.

At the other table, a short stacked Yuval Harosh doubled through Bob Hwang when his {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} would hold up against Hwang's {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Ariel Albilia Eliminated in 13th Place ($1,862)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Kevin Saul has eliminated Ariel Albilia when Albilia four bet shoved with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Saul looked him up with {5-}{5-}. Albilia would flop a flush draw to go along with his two overs but was unable to hit any of his many outs and is eliminated in 13th Place. They are now combining to two tables.

Matt Iles Eliminated in 14th Place ($1,862) (full)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Players are now on break - shortly before the break Matt Iles was eliminated in 14th place when he took {J-}{J-} up against Bob Hwang who was holding {Q-}{Q-}. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give Hwang the knock-out.

Magaly Descalzi is the chip leader at this moment and Anthony Maio just doubled up against Kevin Saul when his {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} was able to hang on against Saul's {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Frank Bonaci Eliminated in 15th Place ($1,862)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Alex Rocha opened to 10,000 and Magaly Descalzi made it 35,000 to go. It was folded to Frank Bonaci who moved all in for approximately 136,000. Rocha thought about it for a moment but folded, later claiming he folded {10-}{10-}. Descalzi made the call with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and was racing against Bonaci's {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

The {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} put Descalzi firmly in the lead and probably had Rocha wishing he had made the bad call. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and the river was the {A-Hearts} and Bonaci finished in 15th place while Descalzi clears the 600,000 chip mark.
