"TreeGuy88" Captures March Mania Title in BetMGM Michigan's $1,060 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em

After four hours of play, it was “TreeGuy88” who outlasted 30 other players players in Event #15: $1,060 Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em on BetMGM Michigan. They win the $15,000 first-place prize and a $10,000 heads-up tournament seat.

The tournament began with Chris “TheDuke8605” Ball being eliminated in the first round. He will have to seek his third victory of the series in the remaining events of the tournament. BetMGM ambassador Andrew Neeme saw his run come to an end in the second round when his ace-four could not beat the ace-king of his opponent.

When the players reached the final four, “Nekatsim” quickly gained a lead in his heads-up match against “suspectdevice” and was able to keep the lead the whole match. On the opposite side, “TreeGuy88” swung to the extremes in their heads-up match with “SlurpeeJunkee”. At one point after being down to only 4 big blinds, “TreeGuy88” managed to spin it back up and win.

In the final heads-up match, "TreeGuy88" pulled ahead quickly and beat “Nekatsim” in only under 10 minutes. “Nekatsim” called a shove on the river with top pair, but it was no good against “TreeGuy88” and their flush.

On the button, "Nekatsim" raised to 1,250 which "TreeGuy88" matched and the two saw a flop.

The flop came out {2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and it saw a continuation bet from "Nekatsim" of 1,100 which "TreeGuy88" called.

The turn came the {7-Hearts} which saw a bet from "Treeguy88" to the tune of 3,300 and "Nekatsim" folded, giving the pot to "TreeGuy88".

After being short for the majority of the match, "suspectdevice" was eliminated by "Nekatsim" in 4th place.

"suspectdevice" will receive $3,750 for their efforts, while "Nekatsim will advance to the final heads up match of the event, guaranteed $7,500.

On the other table, after several all-ins with the chip lead switching constantly, it was "TreeGuy88" that ended up besting "SlurpeeJunkee" after fast and furious action.

The final matchup will be between "Nekatsim" and "TreeGuy88" for the $15,000 first prize, plus additional $10,000 Heads Up Ticket.
