Four Tables Remain

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Justin Zaki
Justin Zaki

Four recent eliminations has brought the field down to 31, meaning four tables now remain in play. One such recent elimination was that of Chad DeBerry, whose hand of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} wound up no good by the river against the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} of Kyle Cartwright on a board of {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

Moments earlier, Justin Zaki was eliminated by William Thomas in an all-in preflop situation as well.

Justin Zaki: {7-}{7-}
William Thomas: {k-}{q-}

Aces and tens came on the runout to counterfeit Zaki's sevens. Phuong Ta and Le Tieu were the other two to fall.

Sumner Toasted

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jack Sumner
Jack Sumner

Jack Sumner was just seen standing up from his seat with no chips in front of him any longer. On his way to the payouts, he said he ran ace-queen into Kyle Cartwright's ace-king and did not get there.

Sumner's elimination follows those of Nick Raio, Derek Bowers, and Jose Reyes, all of whom earned paydays of $5,049 and 35 players now remain.

Tieu Doubles Through Cartwright

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action folded around to Kyle Cartwright in the small blind, who announced he was all in. Le Tieu was in the big blind with 84,000 and pushed it forward to call.

Le Tieu: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Kyle Cartwright: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Cartwright jokingly extended his hand to shake Tieu's and tell him it was nice playing with him, resulting in Tieu bursting out in laughter as he refused to shake Cartwright's hand with the implication he wasn't going anywhere. His implication was correct as the runout {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} left his hand best to score the double.

Arbaugh Continues Climbing

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Brian Arbaugh defended his big blind versus an 18,000 open from Zach Gruneberg, who was in the hijack. The flop came {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Arbaugh check-called Gruneberg's continuation-bet of 16,000. The turn was {9-Diamonds} and Arbaugh check-called another 36,000 before action went check-check on the river to take the hand to showdown.

Arbaugh showed {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for kings up and got a muck from Gruneberg to earn him the pot.
