Sasha Skalrud and Soumen Sem were heads up on the completed board showing J♣K♠10♣7♣A♣ and a sizeable pot already built.
Skalrud fired 11,000 from the small blind before Sem raised it to 31,000. After a couple of minutes, Skalrud slid his cards into the muck, awarding the pot to Sem.
Sem showed K♣9♣ for the nut flush as he raked in the chips.
The eventful Australian Poker Open continues shortly, as players return for Day 1b of the $1,500 Platinum Player Championships. An impressive field of 148 entries took their seats yesterday, all looking to collect chips and make it into the money of this AUD $500,000 guaranteed event.

Day 1b gets underway at 3 p.m. local time, following the same format as action in yesterday’s flight. Players will begin with 50,000 chips and late registration closes at the end of Level 9.
Levels continue at 40 minutes in length on Day 1, and blinds begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Players will be sent on scheduled breaks after every three levels of play.
