Benson Loses Ruling and Pot

Gary Benson fired out a 3,000 chip bet on the river. His opponent tossed out his chips, but only 2,500 of them, and flipped his card to reveal the straight with 
. Benson is upset that his opponent didn't put enough into the pot before exposing his cards and calls for a tournament director to make a ruling on the validity his opponent's call. It is understood that Benson believed that his opponent had not made an appropriate call and by revealing his cards that his hand is now dead. The TD determines that in the best interests of the game that the call is valid and Benson mucks his hand.
