Heng Zhang Cracks Aces

All in pre-flop for his tournament life holding pocket threes against the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} of Martin Cardno, Heng Zhang stood up out of his seat, effectively conceding defeat to his opponent's superior hand.

Luckily for him, the virtual poker gods delivered a timely third trey for Heng, when the flop came {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Cardo was not dead, as he'd picked up the nut flush draw, but the board ran out {6-Clubs}, {Q-Diamonds} giving Zhang a pot-clinching full house.

Cardno dropped to 37,100 after the hand while Zhang doubled up to 23,800.

K.O.'s Kings

Kevin O'Donnell has just eliminated Jonas Kronwitter from the tournament after getting all of the money in with pocket kings against Kronwitter's K-J on a J-2-3 flop. The turn and river blanked out and Kronwitter was eliminated from the tournament in 16th place.

Play Resumes

The players have returned from their dinner break and the virtual cards are back in the virtual air.

Since play has resumed, Aleks Lackovic has been eliminated from the tournament leaving us with a total of 22 players remaining in the tournament.

Dinner Break

The tournament clock has been paused while the remaining 23 players in the PokerPro tournament go on a 60-minute dinner break.

Updated chip counts will be available after the break.

New Chip Leader

The very soft-spoken Lei He has just taken over the PokerPro tournament chip lead. Last month, Lei posted a 3rd place finish in the APPT Sydney Grand Final, a finish worth $322,280 AUD.

Lei currently has 36,000 in chips and looks in good shape to make the final table.

Demetriou Gets a Bit of Help

"I won a race! I haven't won a race in four weeks," said Andrew Demetriou after he ran down an opponent's pocket queens with his own pocket nines in a pre-flop all in confrontation.

If the hand was a race, Demetriou's opponent had a considerable head start, but when the electronic flop came {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, the odds shifted in Demetriou's favor. The turn and river blanked {2-Spades}, {4-Spades} and Demetriou added 14,000 in new chips to his previously depleted stack.
