Congrats to Event #1 Champion Vince Wan!

Event #1 Champion - Vincent Wan
Event #1 Champion - Vincent Wan
Vince Wan from Melbourne outlasted a field of 537 players to win the first event at the 2008 Aussie Millions. He had a tough heads up battle against Michael "Timex" McDonald, which lasted 61 hands as the two traded the lead back and forth several times. Wan emerged as the eventual winner when his pocket Jacks held up against McDonald's {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Congrats to Vince Wan for a job well done.

Hand #182 -

Michael McDonald has the button. He raises to 80,000, Vincent Wan re-raises to 200,000, McDonald moves all in and Wan calls.

Wan {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
McDonald {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The flop is {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}. The turn is the {3-Spades} and McDonald needs some serious help. He runs over to his buddy Shaun Deeb, who is wearing a buddha-themed T-shirt that says "Rub My Belly For Good Luck." McDonald rubs Deeb's belly, but it's not enough... the {10-Diamonds} falls on the river. Wan's pocket jacks hold up to win the hand and eliminate McDonald. He'll collect $85,920 for his runner-up finish, while our champion, Vincent Wan, will pocket a cool $142,302 for his victory.

Hand #175 - Michael McDonald

Vincent Wan has the button. He calls and McDonald checks. The flop is {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and both players check. The turn is the {A-Clubs} and they both check again. The river is the {8-Clubs}. McDonald bets 75,000, Wan folds and McDonald wins the pot.
