Remaining Players Ready for Day 2 of Record-Breaking Aussie Millions Main Event
Day 2 of the now record-breaking 2018 Aussie Millions Main Event here and all eyes will be looking towards the tournament clock to see if the number of players in the biggest, richest and most prestigious tournament in the Southern Hemisphere can break the 800-player mark.
The figure currently stands at 787 with 389 players remaining, but with several players tipped to join the Main Event field on Day 2, including Fedor Holz, that number is expected to grow. Late registration is open until the end of Level 8 (around 2:15 pm), which is the first level of the day.

Day 1a recap
There were several contenders for the Day 1a chip lead, but eventually, Lee Armstrong (165,400) pipped John Overbeek (164,400) by just 1,000 chips. Several big names are still in, with former champions Manny Stavropoulos (105,200) and David Gorr (35,600) joined by bracelet-winners Max Silver (44,900) and Kristen Bicknell (19,900).
Other stacks include Mike Del Vecchio (153,900), Alex Lee Lin Hwaa (151,900), Cale Treacy (151,000), Najeem Ajez (150,800), Michael Egan (126,700), Duff Charette (96,700), Harry Demetriou (83,200), Benny Spindler (75,700) and Daniel Neilson (59,000).
Day 1b recap
Cole Swannack’s Day 1b-leading stack of 197,300 was helped in part by winning a huge pot off of Australian bracelet-winner James Obst in the last level of the day. Swannack flopped an ace with ace-king to crack the kings of his opponent, sending the New Zealander soaring to the top of the counts.
Joining him on Day 2 are 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem (56,100) and 2015 WSOP APAC Main Event winner Scott Davies (107,800). Big stacks Tobias Hausen (156,800), Stephen Graner (145,800) and Jonathan Karamalikis (137,100) are well placed at the start of the day, with the following players also advancing: Alex Foxen (86,900), Jack Salter (68,300), Winfred Yu (56,900), Sam Panzica (43,000), Ana Marquez (36,000), Kahle Burns (28,600), former $100,000 Challenge winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko (25,500), Daiva Byrne (12,100) and Manig Loeser (10,100.
Day 1c recap
Two former champions advanced from Day 1c with Ari Engel (61,900) and Ami Barer (117,500). The pair fared slightly bet than defending champion Shane Vijayaram who was eliminated at the hands of former WSOP November Niner Federico Butteroni.
Just like Day 1a, there was a close race for the chip lead, with Frank Pezzaniti eventually bagging (199,000), good enough for the overall chip lead coming into Day 2. Close behind him are Ludovic Riehl (194,600) and Kitty Kuo (190,000).
Other big stacks and notables that survived the final flight include three-time WSOP bracelet winner Benny Glaser (153,000), Ludovic Geilich (136,900), Matt Affleck (130,600), Jarred Graham (129,100), Artur Koren (92,800), Federico Butteroni (91,500), Bart Lybaert (88,700), Martin Kozlov (88,300) and Australian Poker Hall of Famer Leo Boxell (55,500).
Day 2
Today's schedule is slightly shorter than the three starting flights, with just five 90-minute levels planned. There will be a 15-minute break after each level, and no dinner break, meaning play will finish at roughly 9:15 pm AEDT.
