2014 Champ Ami Barer Eliminated

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ami Barer
Ami Barer

In two hands, Ami Barer's second attempt at Aussie Millions glory came to an end. In the first hand, Barer raised from middle position and called a 239,000 reshove from James Broom out of the blinds.

Ami Barer: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
James Broom: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

There was an ace in the window for Broom and he doubled up: {A-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Broom also won the hand after with a four-bet to move up to 580,000.

A few hands later, Barer had 150,000 left in the small blind and shoved all in. Johan Schumacher briefly considered it before calling.

Ami Barer: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Johan Schumacher: {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Barer added some outs on the {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop but couldn't get there with the {7-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river. The former champion said his goodbyes and finished in 36th place, worth A$15,000.

With Barer's elimination, Ari Engel is now the sole former champion left.
