Solaas Outflushes Ramakrishnan

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Espen Solaas opened to 15,000 from the button and both Raj Ramakrishnan (small blind) and Dzmitry Urbanovich (big blind) made the call to take play three-way to a monochrome {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop.

All three players checked and the dealer burned and turned the {a-Hearts}. First to act Ramakakrishnan led out for 45,000 and while Urbanovich got out of the way Solaas was going nowhere and made the call.

The {3-Hearts} river brought checks from both players and Ramakrishnan showed down {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} but mucked the rest of his hand when Solaas rolled over {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a higher flush to take the pot.

Ramakrishnan Doubles With "Four Aces"

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Raj Ramakrishnan raised to 18,000 from the button and small blind Dzmitry Urbanovich potted. The big blind folded, Ramakrishnan shoved for 130,000 and Urbanovich called.

Dzmitry Urbanovich: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Raj Ramakrishnan: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

The flop came {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, giving Ramakrishnan a set but Urbanovich a gutshot. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn gave Ramakrishnan a flush draw as well and the {9-Hearts} on the river missed both to double Ramakrishnan.

Jonathan Abdellatif Eliminated in 4th place (AUD$33,605)

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Jonathan Abdellatif
Jonathan Abdellatif

First to act Dzmitry Urbanovich accidently exposed his hand as he folded showing {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{x-}. Action folded around to Espen Solaas on the button who did not look too happy about this but chose to open the action with a raise to 21,000 with Belgium's Jonathan Abdellatif (big blind) the only caller.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and, first to act, Abdellatif led out for a pot sized bet of 45,000. Solaas quickly re-potted to put Abdellatif all-in and the Belgium player called off the rest of his stack for his tournament life.

Jonathan Abdellatif: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Espen Solaas: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Abdellatif had flopped middle set and was leading Solaas' aces, and it is easy to see why the Norwegian player was unhappy that Urbanovich had folded three hearts.

"This is my best chance for a double I think," said Abdalletif.

However, the poker gods has other ideas and while the {k-Diamonds} turn kept the Belgium in front, the {q-Spades} river saw Solaas spike a bigger set to send Abdellatif crashing out of the tournament.

Ramakrisnan Takes One Off Urbanovich

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

While he still has a huge stack Dzmitry Urbanovich has taken a couple of hits this level with the latest one coming at the hands of Raj Ramakrishnan.

Preflop it was Ramakrishnan who was the aggressor, opening to 17,500 from the button with Urbanovich making the call from the big blind.

Both players checked the {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop before Urbanovich chose to lead out for 18,500 on the {5-Spades} turn, with Ramakrishnan calling quickly, leaving himself around 65k behind.

Urbanovich checked the {5-Clubs} river over to Ramakrishnan who moved all-in, which was enough to get Urbanovivh to give it up.

Allan Dabbajh Eliminated in 5th Place (AUD$24,440)

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Allan Dabbajh
Allan Dabbajh

Under the gun, Raj Ramakrishnan raised to 12,000 and Allan Dabbajh called from the cutoff. Big blind Espen Solaas over called and checked on {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Ramakrishnan bet 38,500 and Dabbajh shoved for 72,000. Solaas repotted and Dabbajh folded.

Espen Solaas: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Allan Dabbajh: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

It was a set over set situation and Dabbajh wouldn't recover. The {8-Spades} on the turn brought him some hope but the {K-Diamonds} on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for.

Down to four players now, all guaranteed AUD$33,605.

Slow Play

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

People aren't slow playing their big hands and with a 20-second shot clock, play isn't slow either. But there isn't happening much, blinds get tossed around but no big pots or huge coolers have been seen.

Thomas Levine Eliminated in 6th Place (AUD$21,385)

Raj Ramakrishnan raised the button to 10,000 and Thomas Levine called from the small blind, Allan Dabbajh called from the big blind.

Both blinds checked on {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Ramakrishnan bet 30,000. Levine moved all in for 74,500 and Dabbajh folded. Ramakrishnan called instantly.

Raj Ramakrishnan: {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Thomas Levine: {J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {6-Hearts} on the turn in combination with the {7-Diamonds} on the river gifted Ramakrishnan the straight and Levine could start packing.
