Laidlaw Taking Early Lead

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Brazil's Yuri Martins Dzivielevski opened to 700 from middle position, Daniel Laidlaw made the call from the button with both blinds along coming along for the ride.

All players checked the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and there was no further betting with the {k-Clubs} turn and {8-Diamonds} river completing the hand. Dzivielevski showed {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but this was not enough to beat Laidlaw's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} turned two pairs. Laidlaw has obviously been busy and is sitting on a huge stack.

Karmazinas Doubles Through Higgs

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

With 6,150 in the middle already, Dominykas Karmazinas and Sam Higgs got their chips in on a flop of {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Sam Higgs: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Dominykas Karmazinas: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

"Way in front," Higgs said to Karmazinas.

The Lithuanian did not have to worry as the {5-Spades} on the turn and {J-Diamonds} on the river were blanks and he doubled, leaving Higgs below starting stack for the first time today.

Laak Flushes Out Opponent

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

It's raised to 1,000 from the cutoff with Phil Laak making the call from the button and the small blind coming along for the ride as well to a flop of {4-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The small blind checked, the cutoff led out for a pot sized 3,300 with Laak making the call and the small blind getting out of the way.

The {k-Hearts} turn saw the cutoff move all-in for his last 5,000 with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} and Laak called with {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for straight with a heart flush redraw.

The {5-Clubs} river locked up the hand for Laak and his opponent hit the rail.

Greenwood Doubles

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Sam Greenwood (photo from the $50,000 High Roller)

We caught the action on the turn as Sam Greenwood (cutoff) had just bet most of his stack on a board of {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. His opponent, Jeremy Joseph on the button, moved in for a tiny bit more and Greenwood called.

Jeremy Joseph: {5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Sam Greenwood: {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The {10-Diamonds} on the river filled up Greenwood's full house and Joseph had to part ways with most of his stack.

Joseph Flops Quads

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Action folded around to Jeremy Joseph on the button and he opened for 1,050 with Sam Higgs coming along for the ride from the big blind.

Higgs checked the {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop over to Joseph, who led out for 1,200. Higgs check-raised to 6,000 and Joseph quickly shoved with Higgs making the call.

Sam Higgs: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Jeremy Joseph: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

While Higgs may have started off with the better preflop hand that means much less in omaha than it does in hold'em and Higgs queens had been monstrously outflopped by Joseph's quad sevens.

The turn and river are not the running queens Higgs needed to catch back up and Joseph earned himself the double.

Higgs Bombs River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

An under the gun player limped for 200, Sam Higgs juiced it up from the button to 1,000 and Dominykas Karmazinas came along from the big blind as did the limper.

Action is checked over to Higgs on the {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop and needed no further encouragement he fired out a 1,500 bet. Karmazinas looked interested but opted not to call but the under the gun limper did so to bring it heads-up to the {8-Diamonds}.

Both players checked and when the {4-Hearts} landed on the river the under the gun player led out for 2,500. Higgs pushed out a large stack of 1k chips for a pot sized re-raise, which was enough to take it down.
