Brutal Set Over Set Sends Quoss to the Rail

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Fabian Quoss
Fabian Quoss

We picked up the action with around 25,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Bowdy Tolhopf checked from the big blind and Fabian Quoss bet 14,000 from middle position. Tolhopf took his time before check-raising to 45,000, and Quoss responded by moving all in for 115,000. Tolhopf, who didn't have too much more than that, snap-called.

Tolhopf: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Quoss: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Both players had flopped sets, but unfortunately for Quoss his was second best. Neither the {9-Clubs} turn nor {4-Hearts} river delivered him the quads he needed, and Quoss wish the table good luck before taking his leave short of the money.

Kanit and Kuo Tangle

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Kitty Kuo just raised to 10,500 and Mustapha Kanit three-bet from the small blind to 34,000. Kuo thought for a bit before calling, and the flop brought out {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Kanit bet 37,000 on the flop and Kuo called, after which the {2-Diamonds} hit on the turn.

Kanit bet 68,000 on the turn and Kuo tanked before ultimately letting go of her hand.

Bruning's Aces Cracked by Apostolidis' Set

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

According to Sam Cohen, Richard Bruning just raised to 11,000 and John Apostolidis called from the button after which one of the blinds called as well.

The flop brought out {J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Bruning bet 13,000, and Apostolidis put in a big raise to 93,000.

The third player involved folded, and Bruning moved all in for about 180,000. Apostolidis called right away, and the showdown went as follows.

Apostolidis: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Bruning: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}, {10-Diamonds} and Bruning headed for the exit just a few spots shy of the money.

Nothing Stupid Happens and Tony Hachem Doubles

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Tony Hachem raised to 11,500 from the cutoff and his next door neighbor on the button made the call. The flop came {4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and then things went real quick.

Hachem fired 15,500, his opponent snap shoved all in for 114,500, and Hachem snap called for 110,000 total.

Tony Hachem: {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Button: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

"Nothing stupid! Nothing stupid!" Hachem instructed the dealer with a loud voice, implying he didn't want to see any nines or eights. The {J-Clubs} hit the turn and {2-Spades} hit the river, and the button was left with just 4,500.

Jay Smith Eliminated

Tony Hachem opened to 8,000. Adeel Shaikh tossed in a yellow T5,000 chip and three blue T1,000 chips to call, but the dealer announced it as a raise to 13,000 by mistake. Hachem was quick to correct the mistake, and then play folded over to Jay Smith in the big blind.

Smith three-bet to 22,000, Hachem folded, and Shaikh made the call.

The flop came {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}, and Smith pushed all in for just over 45,000. Shaikh snap-called with top pair and a flush draw.

Adeel Shaikh: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Jay Smith: {2-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The dealer put the {Q-Clubs} and {4-Clubs} out to complete the board, and a disappointed Smith left the table.
