Kurganov Doubles Through Egan to Take Chip Lead

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised under the gun — how much we're not sure — and Igor Kurganov called from middle position. Michael Egan came along from the big blind and three players took a flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, which they all checked. Egan then led out with a bet of what looked to be 60,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, O'Dwyer folded, and Kurganov called.

When the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river, Egan checked and Kurganov bet 250,000. Egan responded by check-raising all in and Kurganov snap-called off for 1.05 million with the {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the flopped nuts. Egan was obliged to show and the dealer tabled his {9-}{4-}.
