O'Dwyer Gifts Koon a Double Up

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Jason Mercier opened to 3,000 from the hijack and Jason Koon on the button shoved all in for 30,600. Both blinds folded and Mercier instantly tossed in his big 25,000 chips to call.

"Pair" announced Koon.

Mercier showed his {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} to which Koon exclaimed he didn't have a pair thát good, before showing his {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Koon then kindly asked O'Dwyer to touch his cards for good luck, and the converted Irishman obliged. Koon already apologized to Mercier for winning the hand, even before a single community card had been dealt!

And wouldn't you know it: {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} on the flop. Koon jokingly apologized again as the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. Mercier tried to twist his fate by rubbing his cards forward, but the {3-Hearts} on the river did not help him and he doubled up his namesake.
