Peter Chan is a regular in the Macau "Big Game," but today he's in Melbourne taking his shot in the Souther Hemisphere's most prestigious poker tournament. Unfortunately his first step was one in the wrong direction.
In a recent hand, Chan opened for 250 from early position and received a call from his opponent in the big blind. The flop saw the big blind check-call a bet of 300, and then both players checked when the turn put trips on the board. The completed the board on the river, and the big blind came out with a bet of 600, which Chan paid off.
The big blind tabled the for fives full of sevens, and it was good as Chan silently slid his cards to the muck.
