Cards Back in the Air

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante

As is often the case with TV tables there was a delay in the start. That said, players are in their seats and cards are back in the air.

Fabian Quoss Eliminated as TV/Money Bubble Boy

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante
Fabian Quoss
Fabian Quoss

Fabian Quoss, who won the $100,000 High Roller at the PCA, opened for 50,000 from early position and received a call from Daniel Negreanu. When action reached Doug "WGCRider" Polk on the button he opted for a three-bet to 127,000.

The blinds both folded and action was back on Quoss. The German thought for awhile and even used one of his two red "time-bank" chips. He eventually pushed back with a pot-size four-bet, Negreanu folded, and Polk moved all in. Quoss called off and the cards were turned up.

Quoss: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Polk: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

It was a huge flip, and for Quoss there was AU$350,000 on the line because that's the minimum payday he'd be missing out on if his tens failed to hold. With the railbirds leaning in close the dealer ran out the board lightening quick — {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

Polk found a king to win the hand, and Quoss was sent to the rail empty handed.

The field is down to the final eight players, and they'll now take a 45-minute dinner break before heading up to Studio 3 to play out the final table, which of course will be filmed for television.

Three Streets of Value With Quads

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko
Yevgeniy Timoshenko

David Polk limped in from the small blind, Yevgeniy Timoshenko checked in the big blind, and the flop fell {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Polk check-called a bet of 30,000, the turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and Polk checked again. Timoshenko bet 50,000, Polk called, and the {10-Spades} completed the board.

Polk checked a third and final time, Timoshenko fired out 150,000, and Polk called. Timoshenko showed {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for quad sevens, and the rail whooped while he raked in the pot.

Some More for Polk

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante

Doug Polk opened for 55,000 under the gun and received calls from Patrik Antonius and David Steicke in the cutoff and big blind respectively. When the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, Steicke checked, Polk bet 92,000, and Antonius folded. Steicke gave it a little thought and then did the same.

Eights for Timoshenko

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante

From early position, Patrik Antonius raised to 50,000. Yevgeniy Timoshenko called on the button, and Martin Jacobson called from the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Jacobson checked. Antonius bet 60,000, and Timoshenko called. Jacobson folded.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, and Antonius bet 125,000. Timoshenko used up nearly all of his allotted 30 seconds, then called to see the {K-Hearts} land on the river. Antonius checked, and Timoshenko checked behind.

Antonius showed the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, but Timoshenko's {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} was the winning hand and he was pushed the pot.

Yong Gone Part Deux

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 2,000 ante
Richard Yong
Richard Yong

Daniel Negreanu min-raised to 48,000 from the cutoff, and Richard Yong tossed all of his chips in the middle from the big blind. This is only pot-limit preflop, however, so Yong was only allowed to raised to 166,000, leaving 26,000 behind. Negreanu wanted to just get the rest in but announced, "call," so the two took a flop of {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Yong said that he only looked at one card, then showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for ace-high. Negreanu tabled {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for sevens and fours.

The {10-Hearts} on the turn took away two of Yong's outs because Negreanu had two hearts, and the {9-Hearts} completed the board, giving Negreanu a flush for kicks and giggles.

Yong hit the rail, and the final nine players are now moving to the final table.

One Last Double from Level 14

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Just before the break, Daniel Negreanu raised from the small blind only to be three-bet by a short-stacked Martin Jacobson. The rest of the chips got in and it was off to the races.

Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Jacobson: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop was safe for Jacobson, and the {J-Diamonds} turn actually locked up the hand as Negreanu was drawing dead. The {9-Spades} was put out on the river to make it official, and Jacobson was awarded the pot.
