James Obst is one of the most famous Australian poker player, but yet we had a hard time finding him today. The big pot he just played against chip leader Brian Payne put him in the spotlights, and we know where to find "Andy McLEOD" from now on!
Elliot Smith kicked things off by raising to 1,200 and Brian Payne called. Obst three-bet to 4,100 and only Payne called. The flop came down and Payne check-called 5,300.
On the turn the hit and Payne checked again. Obst moved all in for 41,300 and Payne went into the tank for several minutes. Finally he decided to call and Obst reluctantly showed his . Payne showed and Obst got up out of his chair. He didn't have to go just yet as the river brought the giving him a straight.
