Gruissem Takes On His Friend

While Igor Kurganov is trying to win some buy-ins into the $250,000 tournament just few tables over, it's Philipp Gruissem and Niklas Heinecker who are battling it out in the Main Event.

Heinecker raised preflop to 750 from the cutoff and the button called, as did Gruissem from the big blind.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Gruissem checked to Heinecker who bet 1,600. The button folded and Gruissem threw in 625. The 25 and 1,000 chips look quite similar, and Gruissem corrected his mistake.

On the turn and river, the {6-Hearts} and {7-Spades}, both players checked. Heinecker threw his {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} on the table after which Gruissem showed {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

"Mr. Bort again," Heinecker smiled, referencing to Gruissem online nickname, "Philbort".

"This guy is running good," Graham Putt added, who's sitting to Gruissem's left.

The Germans are all over the place and so far Gruissem is doing quite alright in the Main Event.
