Dia Finds a Double

Peter Costa check-called a bet on the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board before the {3-Spades} completed things on the river. Costa checked and Dia fired all in for 7,075. Costa made the call, but mucked when he saw Dia's set of sixes holding the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Hansen Staying Active

Gus Hansen opened to 525 with the blinds 100/200/25 and Jamil Dia reraised to 2,525. Everyone folded, including Hansen, and Dia won the pot.

On the next hand, Hansen opened to 575 from under the gun. He was called by Dia in middle position and Peter Costa in the big blind before taking a flop of {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Costa checked and Hansen bet 1,200. Dia folded, then Costa followed him into the muck to give Hansen the pot.

On the very next hand, Lee Nelson raised to 550 and Hansen defended with a call from the big blind to see the flop come down {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Hansen led for 800 and Nelson made the call.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and Hansen led for 2,200. Nelson called again before the dealer dealt the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Hansen fired another bet, this time for 5,525. Nelson began to tank and, after a couple of minutes, folded his hand to give Hansen the pot.

Hansen Knocked Back by Scott

The 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event champion Stewart Scott just took a nice pot off of Gus Hansen, the 2007 Aussie Millions Main Event champion. Scott relieved Hansen of about 8,000 chips on the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades} board with the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. Hansen didn't show his hand and was knocked back a bit to 25,000 or so.

Who Wants the Golden Ticket?

Kicking off shortly with be the Aussie Millions Tournament of Champions, a late addition to the 2012 schedule of events. The event is scheduled to start up at 7:00 PM local time here at the Crown Casino in beautiful Melbourne, Australia and is another great way Crown is giving back to its players, specifically the past Main Event winners.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary, this event will feature eight of the nine Aussie Millions Main Event champions. The eight players who will attend are Peter Costa (2003), Tony Bloom (2004), Jamil Dia (2005), Lee Nelson (2006), Gus Hansen (2007), Stewart Scott (2009), Tyron Krost (2010), and David Gorr (2011). The champions will compete for a “golden ticket,” which will award the winner a lifetime of buy-ins to the Aussie Millions Main Event.

Things should be very fun and lively, but there is still a very, very solid prize on the line that will keep things a bit serious in nature as well. PokerNews will be on hand for the coverage, so be sure to stay tuned for the updates. You won't want to miss them.
