A Special Gentleman in Today's Event

About two years ago Peter Eastgate sold his WSOP Main Event bracelet on eBay for $147,500. The money he raised went to UNICEF and afterwards we only heard rumors about where the bracelet went. Because of eBay's privacy rules, we never got to know who bought the bracelet even though there we numerous rumors about who it could be.

One of the names was Willie Haughey, a wealthy Scottish businessman who's known for charitable donations. The PokerNews crew is sitting right in front of one of the tables in today's event where Haughey was playing. During one of the breaks he asked for his iPhone to be charged and we got to talking. Haughey than pointed out he was the one who bought Peter Easgate's WSOP bracelet. "I want to give it back to the WSOP so they can put it up somewhere", the Scottishman said. Haughey also spoke about hosting a charity event with the WSOP as one of his ideas about what to do with the bracelet.

After the day is done tonight we will talk to Mister Haughey and find out what his plans are with the most coveted prize in poker.

A King for Rahme

An under-the-gun player raised to 1,300 and action folded all the way around to Raymond Rahme on the button. The man best known for finishing third in the 2007 World Series of Poker decided to move all in for 15,175 more, and the UTG player made a hesitant call.

Showdown

Rahme{K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
UTG{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Rahme was racing for his tournament life and needed to improve, which is exactly what he did when the {K-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop delivered him a pair of kings. Neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor {7-Hearts} river changed a thing and Rahme survived the hand and doubled to around 34,000.

Dorfman Doubles

Randy Dorfman, last year's fifth-place finisher in this very event, has been relatively quiet today. He's been patiently biding his time, and it finally paid off. It happened when action folded to him in the hijack and he opened for 1,500. The player on the button then came in for a huge three-bet to 12,500, leaving himself just 3,000 behind.

Action folded back to Dorfman and he moved all in. His opponent called and discovered the bad news.

Showdown

Dorfman{A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Button{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Dorfman had the vast majority of his chips in the pot, but they were never really in danger as the board ran out {2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

Jarvis Eliminated

We happened by Matt Jarvis' former table and noticed his seat was empty. His tablemates were happy to inform us of the details regarding his elimination. According to them, Jarvis check-raised a flop of {4-}{7-}{8-}, and then bet 5,800 on the {K-} turn. When the {8-} hit the river, Jarvis shipped his stack and got called by an opponent holding {5-}{5-}.

Jarvis indicated that he had held ace high before exiting the tournament floor.

Ho vs. Neilsen

Action folded to Daniel Neilsen in the hijack and he brought it in for 1,250. Maria Ho was on the button and three-bet to 2,700, which cleared the field back to Neilsen. He made the call and it was heads up to the {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. Neilsen checked, Ho fired out 2,400, and Neilsen check-raised to 8,000.

Ho made the call and then both players proceeded to check the {5-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Hearts} river. Neilsen rolled over {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a missed flush draw, while Ho showed {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a missed straight-flush draw with a pair of eights, good enough to win the pot.

Karr Binks a King

In the break we saw an excited McLean Karr who got his stack up to 60,000. Karr came over to our desk and told us about a crucial coin flip he managed to win. George Youssif limped under the gun and two players decided just to call. McLean Karr was on the button and he raised to 1,900. The action got back to Youssif who made it 6,800 and after both callers folded Karr decided to push all-in. Youssif made the call.

Karr turned over {A-}{K-} and needed help against {9-}{9-}. The river brought a {K-} and Karr is back up to 100 big blinds.

My Dear, Watson

On a flop of {7-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, a short stacked player moved all in from the under-the-gun position and Brett Watson, who was sitting on a big stack, called from middle position.

Showdown

Watson{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
UTG{A-Spades}{5-Spades}

Watson was ahead but needed to dodge and ace or spade. The {5-Diamonds} turn gave the at-risk player some more outs, but the {4-Hearts} blanked on the river. Watson dispatched his opponent and chipped up to 150,000 in the process.

The Surge of Tim O'Shea

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Tim O'Shea came over to our desk and asked who the chip leader was. George Youssif was at the top of our list but as we glanced at his stack we noticed he lost a lot. O'Shea was one of the players to profit from Youssif and he told us what happened.

Youssif limped under the gun and and the action got folded to O'Shea who raised to 980 from the cut-off. One player called and Youssif three-bet to 2,150 after which both O'Shea and the third player called. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-} and everyone checked. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and again the action was checked to O'Shea who bet 6,200. Only Youssif called and the river was the {J-Diamonds}. Youssif checked once more and O'Shea bet 18,250. The former chipleader called and mucked as O'Shea turned over {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a straight.

Youssif is down to around 100,000 while O'Shea is at the top with around 150,000 chips.

Neilsen vs. Ho

With 9,600 in the pot and a flop reading {10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, Maria Ho bet 3,800 and put the pressure on Daniel Neilsen on the button. He gave it a little thought but ultimately decided to fold. Not much of a hand, but we wanted to update you on their chip counts anyhow.
