The cards are in the air after Joe Hachem and the former Main Event winners just gave the shuffle up and deal. Let's see who showed up for the first starting day of this years Aussie Millions Main Event.
Over the course of the next seven days, the 2012 Crown's Aussie Millions Poker Championship $10,000 AUD Main Event will unfold, crowning a new champion in one of poker's most prestigious tournaments. Before that happens, we need to kick things off, which we'll be doing in about a half an hour with Day 1a.
The Crown Poker room is already packed as special kick-off festivities are planned. The Las Vegas Bar on the upper level of the poker room has been transformed into a stage and we're expecting a presentation of sorts as a prelude to the action. Speaking of the action, today is the first of three starting flight, and while many of the big-name pros will be preoccupied with the $100,000 Challenge (which we'll also be live reporting), we expect plenty of notables to take to the felt.
We already know all the former Aussie Millions champions, minus Alexander Kostritsyn, are in the house as they participated in last night's Tournament of Champions, which was won by the young Tyron Krost. Only time will tell if any of the former champs decided to play today, but rest assured the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be here to let you know.
Action will be underway in about half an hour, so stayed tuned for all the action and eliminations from the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event!
