Walch Has His Work Cut Out

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Justin Walch: This game ain't easy!
Justin Walch: This game ain't easy!

Justin Walch is running on fumes right now, having been smashed by Jack Powell but has managed to double up twice to keep his hopes alive at this final table.

The action folded to Powell who open-shoved from the button with {K-Spades}{10-Clubs} before Walch woke up in the small blind with {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Unfortunately for the Walch fans on the rail, Powell hit his king on the board of {3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to double up to 260,000.

This left Walch with just 13,000, which he promptly jammed into the middle on the very next hand with {Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, leaving Barry Drysdale to make up the difference in the big blind with {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, but Walch kept the lead all the way down the board of {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

In the very next hand, James Keys raised to 16,500 from the early position with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and the action folded around to Walch who shoved from the button with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Keys called, but despite hitting a Broadway draw on the flop of {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, Walch doubled up yet again after the turn and river bricked out {4-Diamonds}, {3-Spades}.

Walch is now on about 50,000 in chips and we've still got eight players!
