Melanie Wohlers Eliminated in 16th Place (AUD$8,520)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Melanie Wohlers - 16th place
Melanie Wohlers - 16th place

Melanie Wohlers entered the pot from middle position to 45,000 and Isaac Lau defended his big blind to see a {9-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop fall.

Lau checked and Wohlers pushed out a bet of 65,000 only to have Lau check-raise to 175,000.

In response, Wohlers moved her entire 325,000-chip stack into the middle and Lau swiftly made the call.

Lau: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Wohlers: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

With Lau needing to fade any spade, eight or combination of running two-pair or trips, the {8-Hearts} on the turn would render her tournament over as the meaningless {4-Spades} on the river saw Lau improve to a flush.

For her efforts, Wohlers collects a handy AUD$8,520 as Lau was pushed the pot to move to over the 1,400,000-chip mark.

Here Comes Cohen

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Montgomery opened to 40,000 from under the gun, Mitchell Pavletich called and play came to Justin Cohen. Cohen raised three-bet 220,000, at which point Montgomery shoved allin for around 1,400,000. Cohen snap-called for his remaining 400,000 and a tournament life was on the line.

Cohen: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Montgomery: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Cohen would hold up moving to 1,300,000, while Montgomery who held the chip for much of late into the day falls to 740,000.

Alfred Saliba Eliminated in 17th Place (AUD$8,520)

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Alfred Saliba - 17th Place
Alfred Saliba - 17th Place

With the last hand crippling Alfred Saliba, leaving him with only 26,000 after putting in his ante and sitting in the small blind, it would be the next hand that would be his demise.

Martin Drewe opened for 32,000 and managed three callers and Saliba moving his remaining chips into the pot.

The hand played out with Justin Cohen eventually forcing all other players out of the pot on a flop reading {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Saliba's {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} could not improve against Cohen's {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}, with Cohen taking the both the main and side pots, sending Saliba home.

Saliba Shoves

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Martin Drewe was under the gun +1 when he made it 32,000 to see a flop, with one caller in Alfred Saliba coming from the big blind.

Flop: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

Saliba checked and Drewe bet 37,000.

Turn: {9-Diamonds}

At this point Saliba open-shoved for 543,000. Drewe thought for a moment and made the call.

Saliba: {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Drewe: {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

River: {10-Diamonds}

The big draw for Saliba didnt make it, the open-shove didnt get Drewe to fold and Drewe took down the pot. Saliba was left extremely crippled with 28,000.

Steve Bouya Eliminated in 18th Place (AUD$8,520)

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Steve Bouya - 18th place
Steve Bouya - 18th place

Stephen Bouya has been eliminated in 18th place and has added to the dominating chip stack of Scott Montgomery along the way.

Montgomery opened to 36,000 from under the gun, with Bouya calling from middle position.

Flop: {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

A check from Montgomery and Bouya made it 75,000. A call and a turn to come.

Turn: {9-Clubs}

Montgomery again checked, this time bouya shipping it all-in for 390,000. Montgomery snap called.

Montgomery: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Bouya: {q-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The river bricked and with that Bouya was sent home in 18th place, taking a AUD$8,520 souvenir to remember his efforts.

Brand Busts

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

With the action folding to David Brand in the cutoff, he moved all in for his last 138,000 and Scott Montgomery made the call from the small blind.

Brand: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Montgomery: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

With Brand dominated, the flop of {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} increased his outs by one, and as the {10-Clubs} landed on the turn, Brand picked up a flush draw too.

Unfortunately for Brand, the river landed the {8-Diamonds} to end his tournament in 19th place.

Jones Exits

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

A short-stacked Steven Jones found himself all in against Martin Drewe.

Jones: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Drewe: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

In a typical coin-flip situation, Jones' call of heads would be his undoing as the board was spread {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} to end his tournament in twentieth place as Drewe climbs to 530,000.

Drewe Clips Cohen

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Martin Drewe opened to 32,000 from under the gun with Justin Cohen made the call as Martin Kozlov pondered the min-raise from the big blind before folding.

On a {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Drewe continued for 28,000, which was enough to force a fold from Cohen as he slipped to 530,000 and Drewe climbed to 330,000.
