Tim Marsters Eliminated

Kosta Varoxis raised it up preflop to 7,000 and Tim Marsters moved all in for 60,000, and Varoxis made the call.

Varoxis: {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Marsters: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board was kind to Kosta Varoxis rolling out {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} giving him a turned straight and Tim Marsters is officially busto.

Kosta Varoxis on the other hand is up to 270,000.

Shak Attack

Preflop from under the gun with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, Dan Shak made it 9,000 to go before the big blind answered him by moving all in. Shak made the call and saw he was well ahead of his opponent's {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

The board fell {9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Shak moved up to 375,000 and his opponent moved out the door.

Rock'em Sock'em Robots

Socko Bartosz has just doubled up through Nico Behling to improve to 264,000 in chips.

The two got it all in on a flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs}; Behling with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Bartosz with a set of nines.

The turn and river bricked out inconsequentially and Bartosz's set held up to win the pot. Behling was left with a still-healthy 268,000 in chips following the loss.

Bring Out the Chocolate

Up in Studio 3, the floor staff has spent the last few minutes adding several oversized brown (T25,000) chips into play, in order to help speed play along.

The brown chips are about two millimeters longer in diameter than the rest of the chips on the table and thus, way more intimidating.

Birds on the Rail

There are quite a bit of spectators lining up by the PokerNews desk to watch the action tonight. So much so that our reporters are having to dodge in and out of the crowd to get back to the desk.

The poker room here at the Crown is buzzing with spectators, players, and the riffling of chips.

Wiedenhoeft Still On Top

Minh Trinh raised from late position to 7,500. Chad Wiedenhoeft reraised from the small blind to 23,500. Trinh mucked his hand and Wiedenhoeft scooped in the pot. Wiedenhoeft moved up to 600,000 chips after gathering in this pot and is still leading the way over the rest of the field.

Suck Out Time For Smith

Elliot Smith, who we noted the other day has having a tendency for tanking, raised it up to 7,000 preflop before Andy Stoltz bumped it up to 20,000. This sent Smith into a six-minute tankaroo, after which he decided to move all of his 87,000 into the center.

Stoltz, not to be out think-tanked decided to one up Mr. Smith by tanking for just over six minutes himself. He asked Smith if he would show if he folded, to which he got no response. Finally Stoltz found a call with {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and was spot on with his read. Smith was live though with {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, and pleaded for two eights.

The flop brought one of those eights, with the {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} hitting the felt. The {4-Hearts} hit the turn, and the dealer made Smith's dream come true when the {8-Clubs} hit on the river.

As the river was dealt Smith let out a "Boom," and then a line that went something like "It's suck-out time" before going for a little stroll to relish in his win.

Smith had about 180,000 after the hand, and Stoltz was left with 270,000.

Hansen Takes a Small Hit

Gus Hansen has just dropped to 255,000 in chips from 317,000 after losing a recent flippish sort of situation up in Studio 3.

Hansen opened the pot with a raise to 9,000 and his opponent moved all in over the top for 61,500. Hansen made the call holding {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and it proved to be a good one as his opponent revealed a meager {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Still, Gus' opponent's cards were very live, and they got a whole lot stronger after the flop came {5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, giving him bottom pair.

The turn and river then finished out {6-Clubs}, {4-Diamonds} and the fives held up, knocking Gus back down below the 300k mark.

Boatman Taking On Water

Barny Boatman limped under the gun and saw a flop with the two blinds. The first three community cards were the {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and action checked to Boatman. He fired 4,000 and the small blind folded. The player in the big blind called.

The turn card added the {3-Clubs} to the board and paired it with threes. The big blind bet 7,500 and Boatman raised. He made it 20,000 to go and the big blind called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Spades}. Both the big blind and Boatman checked.

The big blind tabled {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Boatman mucked his hand. Boatman slipped to 65,000 after losing this pot.

Add Another Notch to Dawley's Belt

Jessica Dawley has extended her impressive run here at the 2010 Aussie Millions main event with the elimination of yet another hopeful runner.

Her short-stacked opponent got it all in before the flop holding {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Dawley looked down at pocket aces and made the call.

The {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board was never any threat, and Dawley picked up the pot, improving to 252,000 in chips in the process.
