Day: 2
The board ran out and Kondevski moves up to 87,000 chips.
The board bricked out and Rubie doubled up to about 90,000.
From the small blind, Rodney Chamma called an under the gun raise preflop, and then check-called a bet on the flop before being all in on the turn on a board.
Chamma held pocket jacks but needed help as his opponent showed pocket kings.
The river brought yet another king to complete Chamma's straight to hand him the pot and a stack worth 250,000 chips.
The player had just been moved to the table and woke up with in the first hand he played, only to run into Matthews' .
The board ran out , improving neither hand and we edge one place closer to the money.
In the first hand, Haidaris opened with a raise to 8,500 from under-the-gun and Daniel Carter was the only caller. The flop came down and Haidaris check-raised all in on the flop holding . Carter quickly snapped him off with a set of fours, knocking Haidaris down to just 10,000 in chips.
A few moments later, Haidaris found himself all in with king-queen again, this time drawing very slim against Stephen Smith's . The board filled out giving Smith a full house and subsequently sealing Haidaris' fate.
Of note, Haidaris was one of our top-ten chip stacks at the start of the day.
After some early preflop action, Karib ended up putting his last 35,700 into the middle with a pot of around 20,000. Xenofontos had called and Deeb looked pained as he mucked his hand - so to the showdown we went:
Karib:
Xenofontos:
The board ran out to double Karib up over 95,000 in chips.
"I had pocket nines," said Deeb.
"Big fish got away," Karib replied.
Jones:
Savage:
The board fell to spike a pair of aces for Savage for the double up to around 135,000, to leave Jones on 45,000.
This table is quite formidable at the moment as it features Petar Lackovic, Chris Evans, Callum Ford, Brendon Rubie, Jan Suchanek, Iwan Jones and Ben Savage.
We caught up to the hand on the river with the board showing . Selbst, first to act, fired a 27,000 bet into a ~50,000 pot. Jaxbury opted to fold, surrendering the pot to Selbst, leaving himself with right around 75,000 in chips.
The DeucesCracked crew is driving the Aussie Millions Academy, running daily from now through January 30th here at Crown.
Cai led out on the flop, turn and river and Deeb called him all the way. Cai mucked his hand, knowing he had been caught out. He's still in the tournament, but has been cut back to 85,500 in chips.
The flop gave Jones some hope when it arrived but the turn and river missed him to give Evans the double up to around 85,000.
